daisy johnson / quake Daisy Johnson. Skye. Quake. After a lifetime of searching, she is finally certain of who she is. An agent of SHIELD, dedicated to protecting all who need it. An Inhuman with the power to manipulate and enhance vibrations to the point of even causing earthquakes and shockwaves. A strong, powerful woman who will keep running at brick walls until she solves whatever problem faces her. Daisy is all of these things, but she is also compassionate, curious, and more than a little stubborn. She's also pretty used to weird shit in her life: superpowers, robots, aliens, time travel, it's all just another day on the job. She's had a lot of names over the years, but who she is has never really changed. She's a girl who grew up alone, wondering why no family ever wanted her, only to join one of the world's elite spy agencies and learn that the truth was so much more than she imagined. She's someone who cares deeply about people, who will fight to her dying breath to protect what she believes in, and who is stubborn enough to never let anyone stop her when she puts her mind to something. She's a woman who knows the value of family, be they by blood or by choice, and both because of and in spite of all she's been through, SHIELD will always be her family. ! Available for canon points after Season 3. Usually played during or post-s7. |
julia wicker Julia is a perfectionist and overachiever, a headstrong and passionate young woman who is used to getting what she wants and willing to attain it at any cost. Her high intelligence only makes her all the more dangerous, as she will often disregard her own safety (as well as those of others) to reach her goals. She has the ability to rationalize things with cold logic that has, at times, pitted her against her allies. But despite her ambition, she is a very kind and caring person whose empathy and compassion for others led her down the long, winding path from hedge-trained magician to becoming an actual goddess. This canon and Julia's backstory, in particular, includes many subjects that may be sensitive to some. Please review these before playing with this character. ! Available for canon points during seasons 3-4 and post-s4 AU. |
![]() rogue / marie Rogue possesses the ability to absorb the memories, abilities, personality, and outward physical characteristics of other sentient beings through skin-to-skin contact. No upper limit has been determined for the number of beings she could simultaneously imprint. Upon absorbing another's memories, Rogue also gains any associated emotional responses. Rogue is typically able to control such emotions, however absorbing psyches more powerful than her own results in Rogue’s psyche being supplanted for a short time. After the immediate absorption wears off (generally for every 1 second she touches someone, she is able to use their abilities for 60 seconds), a copy of the other person's psyche is left in Rogue's mind; these psyches are fully formed, and Rogue is able to communicate with the ones who aren't hostile or overly resistant. This southern belle is sassy, stubborn, and strong-willed, refusing to be pushed around or bullied by others. She’s fiercely protective of people she cares about, as well as those who just need protecting -- she will come to the aid of anyone in need, even if it looks to be a losing battle, because it's the right thing to do. She's a passionate person, willing to risk everything for her 'family' and those that need her help, and is most certainly the adventurous sort, willing to do things she’s never done before and go places on her own. Rogue feels very guilty when people she cares about are hurt by her powers, and grieves greatly for those she was forced to kill during her years of captivity as part of the government's experimentation. She frequently has nightmares that have been 'inherited' from others, including Magneto from during his time in Auschwitz and Logan from his experiences at Alkali Lake. If she doesn't make an effort to stabilize herself mentally, these stressors can take a toll on her ability to keep the psyches in her mind at bay, leading to rare periods where the stronger psyches supersede her own. She can be a little reckless, not fully considering all the repercussions of her actions, though this recklessness only extends to herself; she wouldn’t do anything to overtly put someone else in danger. Running is her first instinct when she feels unwelcome and unwanted. Given her history, it’s quite easy for her to fall into this state, and she’s no longer every fully assured she’s been accepted anywhere without proof through touch. ! Available in the Days of Future Past era or other canon points by request. |
padmé amidala naberrie "To those who act as agents of chaos, I say this: I stand resolute and unyielding. And if you strike my voice down, know that a chorus of thousands shall rise up in its place, for you have no dominion over the righteous. We are the defenders of truth." Padmé Amidala Naberrie, commonly known as Padmé Amidala, is a human female politician who became a leading voice for peace and diplomacy during the final years of the Galactic Republic. Rising to galactic prominence after the Trade Federation invaded and occupied her homeworld of Naboo, she emerged as a leading member of the Galactic Senate during the Clone Wars. Amidala was elected Queen of Naboo at the age of fourteen, soon after which she was forced to contend with the Trade Federation occupation. Her resolve to liberate her people led to the removal of Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum from office, the election of Naboo's Senator Sheev Palpatine—secretly Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith—to the chancellery, and the chain of events that would ultimately lead to the unraveling of the Republic. Upon the conclusion of her two terms as queen, Amidala continued her career in public service as Naboo's representative in the Galactic Senate. At the height of the Separatist Crisis, Amidala became the target of an assassination attempt due to her opposition to the Military Creation Act. ! Available primarily from post-Episode III AU. |

{ rp resume }
![]() AMY aka TAINTEDCRIMSON age: tired millennial pronouns: she/her timezone: EST, GMT-5 contact: plurk: about: I started down the RP road back in my teens during the LiveJournal era, took a long hiatus after a rough patch, and then rolled into DWRP in 2015. I'm living the PSL life these days, though I've been in and out of many games over the years. I'm on the more chill side of the player spectrum, prefer that threads be collaborative between writers, and I'm in it for the long haul over the short term. I've had a tough time keeping up with things of late thanks to life stuff and occasionally unreliable notifs, but I've enjoyed each and every thread I've had during these troubled times, whether it was with friends or strangers wandering through the streets of baker. (And I'm always ready and willing to pick up old threads or start new things with folks, I'm just too anxious to reach out myself half the time.) » Creator/mod of roll call communities for Marvel ![]() ![]() ![]() » Creator/mod of the now-closed game The Village PLAYER PREFERENCES rp style: I default to [ brackets ] with present tense, but will absolutely do prose if that's my partner's preference. I rarely do texting threads, generally prefer tags to have more than 2-3 sentences, and don't like to assume a lot of CR. I enjoy writing first meeting threads but am willing to handwave a few basic first interactions. (There are exceptions to this; see relationships below.) backtagging: My tagging speed can be a bit sporadic these days, so backtagging is my default status during the tough times. And I'm always happy to pick up old threads no matter how much time has passed and no matter who is up next. And if you ever worry that I might have accidentally dropped a thread, please contact me! I've probably lost a notif or marked something as read and lost track of things. boomeranging: I love it, I'm not gonna lie. If someone is around to write for hours with me, I will likely set aside everything else to get that sweet serotonin boost from flinging words back and forth. But I know not all my partners can do this, so I never fault anyone for taking any amount of time to write back. memes vs psls: I am much more interested in long-term psls that can take weeks, months, or even years to finish. Short-term memes that end after a dozen tags each just aren't my style, as I would much rather have time to dive into the characters and whatever relationship and dynamic develops between them. (I am, however, absolutely open to building cr over multiple memes and/or testing the waters with a meme before a longer commitment!) games: I am a self-professed Picky Bitch when it comes to games. My ideal games are small-to-medium in size, in the horror, sci-fi, or survival genres, have higher AC to guarantee a certain level of player involvement, and are not a 1:1 day ratio. That particular combo is hard to come by, but I'm always open to suggestions of games with even a few of these criteria. crosscanon: My bread and butter. 99% of the time, I prefer threads with crosscanon rather than canonmates, it's just how I'm hardwired. Figuring out how to get characters in the same room when they come from potentially very different worlds is the most exciting for me. Whether it be dropping one character into another's world or meshing the two together or going with an entire AU, I am here for all the crosscanon. crossmedium: This is an iffy one for me, particularly with anime/manga characters. Occasionally, I'm game for it, but usually, I like to stick with live-action mediums, with exceptions for lifelike videogames or comics. (It's just a weird brain thing for me, I can't really explain it.) alternate universes: Yes please, all day, everyday. Canon divergences, mashups, and reimaginings are one of the best parts of this hobby for me. The thing didn't happen in canon? Who cares, this is RP and we do what we want. favorites: My favorite things to write include emotional moments, hurt/comfort, bonding over shared experiences/trauma, stolen moments of happiness, normal daily life for people who aren't used to it and thus struggle with and find it extremely weird. My go-to genres are horror, survival, sci-fi, and the occasional dash of dark fantasy. Apocalyptic stories are my current top craving. warnings requested: There's not much that will bother me OOCly, but I'll always let my writing partners know if something does come up. For IC subjects, I'll give a heads-up if something will have a stronger reaction than usual. (Please do not ever link me photos of bugs.) not interested in: r!63 characters aren't really my jam. I'm also not usually comfortable with threads with child characters. SCENE PREFERENCES relationships: Shipping is my jam, but unless there is established CR between our characters, I would prefer not to jump straight into the middle of a relationship for a thread. As a player, I need the context of canon or previous threads in order to feel comfortable writing any relationships. (The exception to this is when characters share a canon, because then it's easier for me to make those mental leaps.) I love a good slow-burn and really digging into relationship-building between characters, but sometimes the chemistry sparks fly and I'm equally happy to go full speed ahead. sex: Except for rare circumstances, I prefer writing the build-up and then fading to black or skipping ahead to after the deed. I'm just infinitely better with the emotional than the technical in-the-act side of things. fighting: I am horrible at writing action scenes and would rather gloss over them or end them quickly where possible. injury/death: I am always down for these for either of our characters so long as there is prior OOC discussion. psychic information: Should your character attempt to use psychic abilities on mine, this should be communicated in advance OOCly so I can include information in tag narratives. Only what is in those narratives is fair game to be read by your character. fourthwalling: I'm usually okay with characters recognizing mine to an extext, such as being from an obscure book or comic in their universe, but please no knowing her entire life story. content warnings: If there are major content warnings for my characters, they will be listed on info pages on their journals. Please let me know if there are items you'd prefer not come up in threads, otherwise I will assume that you are fine with anything in those warning lists. CHARACTERS My full muselist is here, but these are my current main characters: » Julia Wicker, The Magicians ( ![]() A strong-willed, stubborn, incredibly smart, and fiercely protective magician who tends to make fairly questionable life choices and doesn't really take no for an answer. She's been through hell a few times and has the emotional scars to prove it, but she's healing, and depending on canonpoint, she is becoming or has recently been an actual goddess. (Despite becoming a goddess, Julia firmly believes that gods are dicks and will appreciate others who share that view.) Depending on the thread, Julia is pulled from s3-s4; I disregard s5. Please review these cw. » Andy, The Old Guard ( ![]() A formerly ancient immortal who has now become human once again. Andromache of Scythia, known to friends as Andy, has traveled the world for millennia with a small group of others like herself, fighting and dying for what she thought was right. She is incredibly loyal to those she claims as family, and while she had become jaded by the state of the world despite all she'd done, she is doing her best to embrace her final years of life as a chance to see hope in the world again. » Eun-Yu Lee, Sweet Home ( ![]() An angry young woman trying to survive an apocalypse where people turn into literal monsters. Eun-Yu faced trauma both before and after the end of the world, and her sole focus in life has become finding her lost brother no matter how long it takes or the dangers she must face along the way. She might seem aloof and uncaring at times, but she can't not care about other people. » La'an Noonien-Singh, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds ( ![]() Extremely dedicated Chief of Security aboard the USS Enterprise. Descendant of Khan Noonien-Singh, a genetically augmented genocidal dictator. Possibly the Federation's foremost expert on the Gorn (ie Star Trek's Xenomorph) thanks to surviving multiple encounters with them. She has trouble connecting with people but cares deeply about others, and has dedicated her life to protecting others so they never suffer the same traumas she has. » Daisy Johnson, Agents of SHIELD / MCU ( ![]() A millennial hacker turned spy turned superhero who has been through more trauma than most characters in the MCU, including growing up an orphan, being betrayed by those she loves, the death of many loved ones that she feels responsible for... But despite all the pain in her life, she's still compassionate, loyal, and ready and willing to sacrifice herself to protect others. I tend to play her post-season 7 when she's in her early 30s. » Buffy Summers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer ( ![]() She who hangs out a lot in cemeteries, the original Chosen One destined to fight the forces of darkness and die a whole lot doing it. She's lived her life with the literal weight of the world on her shoulders and has a whole lot of damage from it that I would love to explore. I pull Buffy from post-season 7 and mostly disregard the comics. » Alice Abernathy, Resident Evil ( ![]() A former Umbrella Corporation employee who failed to stop the T-virus outbreak that destroyed the world. She carries the guilt of that failure with her every day and does everything she possibly can to fight against the remnants of Umbrella while protecting what is left of humanity. She has a fondness for children, knows her way around weapons, and tries to find a bit of humor in the endtimes. I tend to play Alice in the Extinction and Afterlife eras, with or without powers. SAMPLES La'an Noonien-Singh — sharing secrets with Christopher Pike ( x ) — another life with Alternate James T Kirk ( x ) — post-s2 finale with Prime Jim Kirk ( x ) Daisy Johnson — ridiculously long psl with Bucky Barnes ( x ) Julia Wicker — ridiculously long psl with Stephen Strange ( x ) — the witcher and the goddess with Geralt of Rivia ( x ) Buffy Summers — apocalyptic diner with Daryl Dixon ( x ) Padmé Amidala — the queen's bounty psl with Din Djarin ( x ) ( resume code ) |

Happy Thanksgiving
It's that time of year! Whether you're from the United States or have just seen it in movies, everyone knows that Americans take Thanksgiving very seriously. We consume copious amounts of food, watch a lot of football, and kick off the insane shopping season with Black Friday. It's also a time of family and togetherness, which is better for some than others. What sort of holiday will your muse have?
Directions
1. Comment with your character, series, preferences, etc.
2. Roll a number between 1-12 for a prompt.
3. Reply to others and play out the scenario!
Prompts
1. Not Home for the Holidays – You’re stuck on the other side of the world, or on a different world altogether. Do you mope about it or make the best of the occasion?
2. Road Trip – The snacks are packed and you’re ready to go to grandma’s house. But what happens when you lose GPS signal and get lost in the middle of nowhere or the car breaks down?
3. Stranded in the Airport – You’re snowed in and the hotels are full of fellow delayed passengers. Why don’t they make these chairs more comfortable for sleeping in?
4. Meeting the Family – It’s your first time meeting your significant other’s family, be they biological or chosen, and you’re nervous as hell about it.
5. Avoiding the Family – You’re obligated to go home for the holiday, but there’s only so much you can take of your family. Go for a walk, stop by the bar, whatever it takes for a little peace and quiet.
6. Friendsgiving – You’re spending the holiday with your chosen family. Are you hosting the event, or just bringing an extra bottle of wine?
7. The Dinner – What’s on the table? Is it set for two or twelve? Can you make it through the meal without someone causing drama?
8. Stuck in the Kitchen – Do you have to make the entire meal yourself or have you enlisted someone’s help with the mashed potatoes?
9. Burned the Turkey – Well, the main course is a little blackened. Time for Chinese food, or is it pizza this year?
10. Game Time - Football is a Thanksgiving tradition. Are you watching the game on TV, or out playing one of your own?
11. Thanksgiving Day Parade - Who doesn't love a good parade? Are you in it or just watching from the sideline?
12. Black Friday – Are you out fighting the crowds for the best deals? Or are you behind one of the counters, stuck in the annual retail holiday hell?
13. Write-in Option – Is there something we missed? Is there another scenario you want to play out, or would you like to roll the dice again? Go for it!
